God is too Busy

$24.95

Kwabena Appiah, a professor of Sociology at Northwestern University in Chicago, takes a one year sabbatical to research and write a sociology book on contemporary Ghana, a Ghana he last visited in 1991. Taking the plunge, the pampered professor dives headlong into a whirlwind adventure of funerals, weddings, crazy traffic, begging relatives, malaria, drug peddlers, corruption, hypocritical religions with good humor, and manages to fall in love along the way. However, his exasperation with the indiscipline and corruption that have engulfed the whole society is bountifully manifested throughout the book. He implores Ghanaians to do the right thing instead of constantly praying for miracles because God is too busy.
